If your kids are in high school then you are probably wondering why all the change in your house is gone!! Well that’s because of the penny war that happened last week!! For Amanda Meyer and Elizabeth Haverkamp’s FCCLA project they decided to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. But the High School and Junior High was not the only people that got involved!! The grade school also helped out by purchasing links or bracelets!! One link for 75 cents and three links for $1.75, and the bracelets were $1! If a kid purchased 10 links or 10 bracelets then they could go to the lock-in which was December 18, 2009, in the Bern High School! But that’s not all, every link you bought you could vote for the teacher that you wanted to get a pie in the face!! And the kid that bought the most links got to throw the pie in the teachers face!! The child with the most links was Bethany Platt who threw the pie in Mrs. Droge’s face!! For the High School they knew to promise us food if we won, so the winning class got a pizza party!! Which the sophomore class won!! “All in all it was a good fundraiser” says Elizabeth “We raised from 600 to 700 dollars total”!! So thank you for all the support and assistance in helping the Children’s Miracle Network!!
