Axtell High School’s Communications class has been busy writing and performing their own radio plays. Using their knowledge of plot sequence, groups of students wrote and taped radio plays incorporating all of the elements of plot. The class especially enjoyed finding appropriate sound effects to compliment their scripts. Some groups chose to find sound effects from the Internet, while other groups used CDs and created their own sounds. Each group audio-taped their plays and the entire class listened to them. This project gave students a chance to use public speaking techniques used in communications class as well as demonstrate the knowledge of plot learned in English classes.
